ARTIST’S STATEMENT

OPEN_Borders Lounge is a completely mobile telematic system that combines individually processed media streams (manipulated with max/MSP/jitter/modul8/ableton live/analogue hardware) transmitted via high-bandwidth networks and projected to create a single mediatized environment constructed in real-time by distant and local performers.

Commissioned by the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics, Open Borders Lounge provided a venue for interactive telematic performances across 8 timezones and 4 continents during the Actions of Transfer conference at UCLA.
